Based on an acclaimed novel by Emmanuel Carrere, the French psycho-thriller CLASS TRIP plunges viewers into the mind of an emotionally damaged child. Nicholas (Clement van den Bergh) is a shy, socially isolated schoolboy teased by classmates, dominated by an overprotective father (Francois Roy), and frighteningly plagued by nightmarish visions of death and disaster. On a class trip to the French Alps, Nicholas finds himself befriended by the school bully Hodkann (Lokman Nalcakan), who is intrigued by his strange classmate's dreams and hallucinations. When local police find a dead child in the woods--murdered and horribly mutilated--Nicholas senses a connection between the crime and his visions, and sets out to find the killer with the help of his new friend. Writer/director Claude Miller (L'EFFRONTEE, ALIAS BETTY) makes perfect use of a haunting orchestral score and pristine cinematography of the snowy French countryside to create superb cinematic atmosphere, mirror his troubled protagonist's emotional desolation, and offer a mournful meditation on the loss of childhood innocence.
