A brigade of cutthroat police inspectors use "narcs" to supply them with information regarding a drug syndicate. Most of the paid informants end up dead, so they are forced to recruit a new insider, one who is close to the action. The violent vice cop picks Dede, a charming and connected pimp, to rat on his former boss who is now his arch enemy. LA BALANCE features another striking performance from French beauty Nathalie Baye.

When a police informant is gunned down, a determined vice cop must recruit a new stool pigeon-one that can finally take down the unassailable mob boss. The line between the cops and gangsters becomes blurred as Dede (Philippe Leotard, The French Connection II), a charismatic pimp, is forced to 'rat out' his former boss and nemesis, the elusive Massina. Remarkable performances, especially from Nathalie Baye (Catch Me If You Can) as Dede's girlfriend, helped La Balance sweep the Cesar Awards.
