Vicky Jenson in Shrek (2001)

VICKY JENSON (Director) started out as a background artist at Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1977, and went on to do storyboarding for Marvel Productions, Disney Television and Warner Bros.

In 1986, Jenson began working with Ralph Bakshi and John Kricfalusi in developing the visual styles for the animated series "Mighty Mouse" and "Ren & Stimpy," as well as the Rolling Stones video for "The Harlem Shuffle." She then worked as a storyboard artist on numerous commercials and television shows, before moving into feature storyboard work for Wayne Wang's "Slamdance" and John Hughes' "She's Having a Baby."

Jenson went on to serve as the production designer on the 1990 live-action thriller "Playroom," which led to her becoming an art director on the animated feature "Ferngully: The Last Rainforest." In 1991, she joined Universal Cartoons as the art director on the Ivan Reitman television series "Beethoven," in addition to being a co-producer on "The Baby Huey Show."

Jenson began her relationship with DreamWorks in 1996 on the traditionally animated feature "The Road to El Dorado," on which she worked as a production designer and story artist. "Shrek" marks her directorial debut.
