Matthew Lillard in Summer Catch (2001)

MATTHEW LILLARD (Billy "Bru" Brubaker) captured audiences with his hyper-kinetic portrayal of a teen serial killer in the smash hit Miramax film "Scream," earning him critical acclaim and worldwide recognition.

Some of Lillard's recent films include Miramax's "Love's Labour's Lost" co starring Kenneth Brannagh and Alicia Silverstone, Miramax's hit comedy "She's All That," opposite Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sony Pictures Classics "S.L.C. Punk!"

Lillard made his feature film debut in John Waters' "Serial Mom," with Kathleen Turner and Ricki Lake. He co-starred as Chris O'Donnell's best friend in "Mad Love," and also starred in such films as "Hackers" and "Senseless."

On television, Lillard portrayed an anti-abortion extremist opposite Cher and Anne Heche in HBO's "If These Walls Could Talk."

A versatile film and stage actor, Lillard recently received critical acclaim for his starring role as 'Jason' in the London run of Neil LaBute's play "Bash."

Born in Michigan, Lillard grew up in California. He became interested in the theater after his father made him choose between a typing or acting class to prepare him for a future in sales. He attended Pasadena College of the Arts, then in 1991, he moved to New York City where he studied and then taught at the distinguished Circle in the Square Theater Company.

In addition to "Summer Catch," Lillard can also be seen starring in two other upcoming Warner Bros. films; "13 Ghosts" opposite Shannon Elizabeth and "Scooby Doo!" in which he plays the role of 'Shaggy.'
