 When all is said and done this isn't Argentos worst work (Phantom of The Opera anyone?) but it's far from his best. Although the last 20 or so minutes really kick ass, everything before that is only interesting thanks to it's visual flair. Only Argento can put a razor wielding Chimpanzee, an insane mutant dwarf and a insect controlling girl in a movie and make it completely and utterly rational. [read review]

While there's a few somewhat muddled moments and the plot tends to sway in credibility at times; this is still a totally watchable time with lots of alright mood scattered throughout, Argento's always eccentrically stylized direction and a finale that not only adds some menace and has the memorable 'pit' moment it also manages to bump this up a half-a-star in rating.
