Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil (2002)

MILLA JOVOVICH (Alice) made her film debut at the age of nine in the Disney Channel production, Night Train to Kathmandu.

She most recently completed production on No Good Deed opposite Samuel L. Jackson. This thriller tells the story of an auto theft detective who tries to help a friend find his missing daughter and ultimately learns that 'No good deed goes unpunished.' The film was shot in Montreal by Bob Rafelson.

She will also star in Brian Bums' romantic comedy You Stupid Man, opposite William Baldwin and Denise Richards. Produced by New Legend Media and AMG, the film was completed in Toronto and New York last spring. You Stupid Man marks Burns' directorial debut. Additionally, Jovovich stars with Adrien Brody in Dummy, an independent film that marks the directing debut of screenwriter Greg Pritikin. Dummy is produced by Richard Temtchine of Quadrant Films.

She was recently seen in Ben Stiller's hit comedy Zoolander as Katinka, a dominatrix-like character who is responsible for recruiting, training, and brainwashing the male models, and in The Claim for MGM, directed by Michael Winterbottom and co-starring Wes Bentley, Sarah Polley, Peter Mullan and Nastassja Kinski.

Additional films include Wim Wenders' Million Dollar Hotel opposite Mel Gibson and Jeremy Davies and the starring role in The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. Directed by Luc Besson and written by Andrew Birkin, Columbia Pictures' The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc placed her in the role once inhabited by such formidable screen icons as Ingrid Bergman and Jean Seberg. The film also starred Dustin Hoffman, John Malkovich and Faye Dunaway.

Prior to The Messenger, Jovovoich was seen on the big screen in Spike Lee's He Got Game opposite Denzel Washington. She also earned critical acclaim in Luc Besson's science fiction extravaganza, The Fifth Element. Starring opposite Bruce Willis, Milla played 'Leeloo,' an alien who holds the key to thwarting a seemingly unstoppable evil force and must team with Willis' renegade taxi driver to save the earth. The film also starred Chris Tucker, Gary Oldman, and Ian Holm.

Additional film credits include Two Moon Junction opposite Sherilyn Fenn; Richard Linklater's high school comedy, Dazed and Confused, Sir Richard Attenborough's Chaplin and William Graham's Return to the Blue Lagoon.

A student of voice and guitar since she was very young, Jovovich began writing songs for her first record at the age of fifteen. After establishing her independence from the label, she received widespread critical acclaim for her songwriting and performing on "The Divine Comedy" for EMI Records. She is currently at work writing and recording music for the follow up to that record.

Jovovich began an astonishingly successful modeling career at the age of eleven. Included among the fifteen fashion magazine covers she did in that first year was an unprecedented cover shoot with Richard Avedon for Mademoiselle. She continues to serve as a spokesperson for L' Oreal.
