 Synopses for Tokyo Eyes (1998)
1.A mysterious killer known as "Four Eyes" has been plaguing Tokyo police by carrying out brutal vigilante murders on some of the city's most violent criminals. Portrayed as a dangerous psychopath by both the police and the news media, Four Eyes has become the subject of a fierce manhunt. However, a teenage girl stumbles across this killer before they find him and discovers that Four Eyes is not psychotic at all. Finding herself empathizing with the ideals that has driven Four Eyes to kill, the young girl tries to bring out the gentle young man who existed before he turned to vigilante justice.

2.  Where Teen Love and Bullets Meet

Tabloid headlines track the exploits of "Four Eyes", an anonymous gun-wielding vigilante spreading panic through the streets of unflappable modern Tokyo. While her policeman brother labors around the clock to stop Four Eyes before his punitive pranks turn lethal, 17 year old Hinano (Hinano Yoshikawa) takes up the manhunt on her own. Using the instincts that only a teenager in a youth-gone-mad urban wonderworld could possess, Hinano first finds the gunman then finds herself falling for the sweetly androgynous teenager who calls himself "K" (Shinji Takeda). Outfitted with a bent barreled gun, vision distorting glasses and a mission to teach a lesson to anyone he feels needs one, K's personal vendetta begins to wither as his love for Hinano grows. With both the police and the Yakuza underworld in the form of Japanese crime movie icon "Beat" Takeshi Kitano (Violent Cop, Zatoichi) closing in, K, no longer a lone madman, and Hinano, no longer an innocent bystander, risk everything to stay alive and in love.

This Japanese-French co-production expertly combines the clear-eyed immediacy of post New Wave French filmmaking with the exuberance and surgically precise detail of contemporary Japanese vanguard cinema. From breathlessly urgent start to shocking finish, Tokyo Eyes is an unusually authentic window into the dispossessed youth and street-level fury that seethe beneath the neon radiance of Tokyo after dark. As K and Hinano fight to remain a heartbeat ahead of an entire city united in fear, Tokyo Eyes offers a breakneck techno-pulsed tour of the subways, back alleys and nightscapes of the world's most seductive metropolis.

3.  A killer known as "Four Eyes" appears mysteriously in Tokyo, a city of sickness and degeneracy. He has taken on a justice seeking alter ego to punish the ill-behaved people and the dregs of society, though he misses the shot every time. The police hunt for him but in vain. One day he meets a teenaged girl. Through contact with her, he slowly abandons his role of "Four Eyes" and returns to reality as well as his real identity "K."
