Believe everything you've heard about this movie. There's something about it, especially after repeated viewings that just grows on you. You start seeing how expertly done some of the earlier scenes are and really start appreciating the music too.--Sonny Fernandez (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
It's a good film to watch if you're into gore and a fan of Itallian director, Lucio Fulci. If you're wanting to see an all out zombie film, then I suggest you rent something like Dawn of the Dead. 8/10-- (UHM)
Probably director Fulci's best effort; this starts off well with a stylish (and gory) lynching before settling down into a fairly routine plot. That doesn't mean there isn't plenty of cool looking gore throughout and Fulci does manage some eerie mood; but like most of his films it falls victim to a muddy plot that doesn't hang together well. ... Probably the movie to see if you're interested in Fulci and why he has such a cult following. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
As with most of Fulci's films, there isn't much plot to speak of, but I couldn't give a rat's arse, cause I quite liked this film. --p.rinse (ColdSpot)
The flick does have terrific atmosphere. Some also claim it has the best script of any of his movies. I dunno. ... This is no masterpiece and why it has such a huge cult following is way "beyond" me.-- (eSplatter.com)
