PETER BERG (Paulie) says his decision to join the cast of "Corky Romano" was an easy one. "I was in the depths of writing a project when the phone rang, and it was Chris Kattan. As soon as I heard his voice, I started laughing. He started telling me about the movie, and I was immediately sold. It sounded like a completely twisted version of 'The Godfather,"' he laughs.
"I'd never met Chris before that phone call but I was a big fan of his, and the thought of putting down my pen for a little while and getting out of my little writing office to hang out with him was very appealing to me," Berg says.
Berg is a prolific talent with a taste for challenging material. He has been involved in various projects as a writer, director, producer and actor. He made his feature film directing and writing debut with "Very Bad Things," starring Christian Slater and Cameron Diaz, and was most recently seen in James Mangold's independent drama, "Cop Land," Reginald Hudlin's "The Great White Hype," Spike Lee's "Girl 6," and John Dahl's "The Lost Seduction."
Other notable films as an actor include Wes Craven's "Shocker," "Late For Dinner" "Crooked Hearts," "A Midnight Clear," "Aspen Extreme," and "Fire In the Sky." He recently signed a two-y ear development deal with HBO to produce and direct "Rendition 6," and to write, direct and possibly co-star in "Truck 44."
On television, he created, executive produced, wrote and produced the ABC series "Wonderland." Berg also starred in the critically acclaimed series, "Chicago Hope," as Dr. Billy Kronk. Berg's talents also extended to writing and directing episodes of the series. Additionally, Berg starred in the FOX telefilm, "Rise And Walk: The Dennis Byrd Story."
