Plot: In the midst of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, dignified domestic worker Odessa Cotter does her part by walking the nine miles to her job at the home of civic-minded white socialite Miriam Thompson. When Miriam discovers Odessa's hardship, she volunteers rides, but her well-intentioned act earns her the wrath of the racist White Citizens' Council.
