Plot: A creepy Val Lewton production about a nurse who is hired to treat a sick wife on a Caribbean island. The nurse finds the island to be inhabited by strange creatures and all kinds of eerie voodoo legends that seem frighteningly possible. A good story, vaguely related to Jane Eyre, and lots of spooky atmosphere make this one watch-with someone else.
