BOB HOSKINS (Khrushchev) was named Best Actor at the 1997 European Film Awards for his starring role in Shane Meadows' TwentyFourSeven. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Mona Lisa, which earned him the New York Film Critics Circle Award. Golden Globe Award and Cannes Film Festival Best Actor Award.
Hoskins has appeared in countless feature films, television and theater productions in addition to writing, directing and producing. His recent film credits include Felicia's Journey, for which he received the Genie Award, Cousin Bette and The Secret Agent. His other credits include Nixon, Mermaids, Hook, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne and The Long Good Friday, and the upcoming Last Orders, directed by Fred Schepisi.
Hoskins directed and appeared in Rainbow and The Raggedy Rawney, for which he also wrote the screenplay. He also directed the My Father, The Liar segment of Tube Tales.
His numerous television appearances include the recent Don Quixote, in which he played Sancho Panza opposite John Lithgow in the title role; David Copperfield, with Maggie Smith and Ian McKellen; Noriega: God's Favorite, in which he starred in the title role; and Pennies From Heaven, for which he was nominated for the Best Actor BAFTA. His theater appearances include King Lear, Pygmalion and Guys and Dolls.
His other screen credits include The White River Kid and a cameo appearance in Shane Meadows' A Room for Romeo Brass.
